All Kinds of Happy:)

Hi! I made this for Beate's Weekend Sketch using the line from Imaginisce called All Kinds of Happy:) We have bundled the stamps together at Paper Addiction so you get 6 clear stamps for $5.75, but during our grand opening sale the 30% off price is just $4.02, very happy indeed! Remember you have to use the code NOWOPEN at checkout to receive the 30% discount on all items in your cart, whoohoo!

On to the card! I stamped the images with brown Memento ink and colored it with watercolor pencils and a blender pen. I added some diamond stickles to highlight parts of the cupcake, yum:). I added some doodling to the panels with a Chocolate Chip SU! marker. The crystal brads are from Making Memories.

Give Thanks

Hi! This is for the Limited Supply Challenge...BawHaHa (I guess they didn't get my memo about the absurd amount of stuff I have. I shouldn't ever be allowed to play in that challenge (grinning). Well the challenge was to use a stamp that hasn't seen ink in a long time (never) and to use up some stuff you have been hoarding, how fortuitous (see previous post) and paper remnants. I think I almost hit the limit on the number of embellishments you can put on a card before someone turns you into the card police. I also used Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. I stamped the image with brown StazOn on cream cardstock and colored it with Copics. For this I really wish I had used my watercolors. I might try again later, but what you see is what you get for now. I colored some twill with a Really Rust SU! Marker.

So here it is....my brand spankin' new desk. Can I just tell you how much I LOVE it so far. I used it on the card today and it was so convenient. I had the trunks under the desk already so I just moved them underneath. They hold SU! stamps. The cubbies with the boxes are now holding a few clear stamps and Cuttlebug folders and dies. The boxes where a computer key pad would go are holding thread and other sewing machine things. I got the unfinished box with the lid at Michaels. I will finish it at some point:) But for now it's just wonderful! So what do you think?

Hello

Hi there! This is for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. I used one of the stamp sets I got from My Little Stamp Shack. It's form Hero Arts. I stamped the branch and the bird on to cream colored cardstock with Brown Staz-on and colored it with a blender pen and ink pads. The dp is from my LSS and of course I cut off and glued the edge that tells me what company:( It comes with the flowers cut out in spots. I did a little stitching, a little paper piercing, added Star Dust Stickles to the flowers and the little bird's wing and that's it!

I am going to try to stamp a little tomorrow, but if I don't post again before Monday, I hope you have a relaxing Memorial Day weekend with the people you want to spend time with. I don't have any plans other than that.

Wonderful Mother's Day

Hi there, I can't believe I am posting 3 days in a row. This is for Beate's Weekend Sketch. I needed to make a Mother's Day card for imakeartcards.com. It is for a challenge they are having that is due today, nothing like waiting until the last minute. I stamped the very wonderful image, (April release from My Favorite Things.) onto watercolor paper with brown StazOn. I colored it with my watercolor pencil and a blender pen. I added Liquid Applique to the flowers on the frame corners so they would pop a little. I just love these little heart paperclips, but rarely find a suitable use for them, if you try to put them with paper you can't see the heart, aarrrrgghhh! Well, I think it's perfect with this soft pink ribbon. The dp is from BasicGrey (green print) and Me & My Big Ideas (pink print). I cut out the blocks and then stitched them to piece of vanilla cs. and put that onto celery. The sentiment on the frame reads "Thank you for... being a gift in my life loving without condition giving all of yourself"

Someone asked the other day how I used my watercolor pencils with a blender pen. Is this something you would like to see a tutorial on? It is really my favorite way to color, mostly because I don't own $200 worth of Copic Markers.:) Let me know.

Sweet Chick

Hi there! This is for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. I love this sketch, it's a great way to use up scraps of paper. I am trying to get some Easter cards done, even though I really need birthday cards. So many cards to do, so little time:) The paper, ribbon and the frame are from Cosmo Cricket, the very fun box I got from QVC. Did any of you get it? The chick and the flower (from My Favorite Things, Eggsta Special) were both stamped with black classic ink and colored with colored pencils. I cut the flower and attached it to the outside of the frame, 'cause it wouldn't fit on the inside and there was no way I wasn't using the frame!

I am so happy it's Friday and the weather is gorgeous here! I am going for a walk later, but first I am going to Michael's to get MORE stuff, lol! I really need glue sticks and a new blade for my trimmer. I am going to try and be good, wish me luck!

Are you ready for some football!!!

This is for the limited supply challege, something inspired from the BIG GAME and Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. Can I just tell you how much fun I had with this card! I rarely do boy cards and just love how this one came together. The BG grass paper I have had for like 100 years and thought I would never find a suitable use for it. The football image and the sentiment are from the same $1 stamp set from Mike's, hello, how fun and I have really been wanting to use them! I doodled the plays on the cream background paper. I actually googled football formations so they would be somewhat authentic (that doesn't mean I understood what I was looking at mind you)

Chic Hello

This is for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. This is such a great versatile sketch. I did angle the image to add a little interest and show off the felt flower behind the image. This is also for the limited supply challenge to use scraps. I did stamp the image for this, but the paper is leftover from a card I did earlier in the week. I am really trying to focus on that this year. I am getting overwhelmed by my scrap pile...I hate to throw even the smallest scrap of paper away. I have organized my scraps by color and am getting better about reaching for those before a fresh sheet of paper. Do you have any wonderful ideas for scraps? I would love to hear how you deal with scraps and supplies that you tend not to reach for.

The image is from Close to my heart and the sentiment is from the $1 bin at Mike's.

Oh my, how pink.

Ok, so can I just say that this isn't my favorite card....it is for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge, love the sketch, but just wasn't feeling the mojo today. I kept thinking I could push past it but I don't think I did. I got the new paper from Basic Grey called Two Scoops and it had that cupid paper in it. I keep seeing all kinds of pink Valentine's cards in the gallery and think they are adorable. Anyway, I thought I would share because I was wondering if this happens you.

OK, on to the details....The heart is from My Favorite Things stamped with a glue pad onto vellum card stock then sprinkled with pink glitter. I also embossed a strip of vellem with a textile folder with my CB. I have had those rhinestones forever, so I am glad to have found a home for them. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Weekend Sketch Challenge

This is for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. The dp is Pheobe from BasicGrey and pretty much inspired the design. I stamped the flower and the butterfly on glossy cardstock and used SU markers and a blender pen to achieve the shading. I added quite a bit of doodling to this card. If you haven't tried it, don't be afraid...I think it lends such a personal touch to cards!

Timeless

This is for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. I used DP from Me & My Big Ideas and stamps from MFT. This is a great layout, one I don't think of using on my own, but that is why I particularly like sketch challenges. I got the butterfly image at Target. It blends almost perfectly with the the bg paper.

Recipe ~ Stamps: My Favorite Things, Autumn Leave (butterfly). Paper: Basic Gray, Vanilla, Misc. lt gray paper. Ink: Silver. Other: Cuttlebug, ribbon, clear ep, eyelets, Creative Memories circle cutter.
