Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!!!
Hi! I know many of you reading this will be shaking your heads and thinking, "Hasn't this girl ever seen snow before and who cares anyway!" I just can't resist sharing these pictures of snow in Las Vegas. This was a really BIG weather event for us, school is cancelled today (my kids are absolutely beside themselves:) and we are hanging out inside all bundled up.
Above is a walking path around the golf course.

Peace and Christmas Decorations
Hi! I don't know where the time is going, but it's going. I worked a little at my LSS last week in the store and I had a class. I need to throw a shout out to Marko. His mom has taken a couple of my classes and he likes to check out my blog. Thanks you guys, that makes me happy:)
I am going to share a little known secret...I am married to Clark Griswold. Yes, this is my house which was decorated yesterday. He has been decorating our house like this (some years even more) since we moved in 9 years ago. He has won the neighborhood lighting contest at least 6 times (there are 2000 homes in our community:) I can't vacuum the house when all the lights are on 'cause I blow the breaker box.
That's my daughter with a new acquisition.
I have to make sure our insurance policy is up to date around this time every year.
Well, on to a card. I did this for the PaperCraftPlanet.com sketch challenge from 12/6/08. I got brand new stamps from the Cat's Pajamas this week and had to ink them up. I love the elegance of this card. The Cuttlebugged panel was done with heavy vellum. I used clear ep for the reindeer, poinsettias and the sentiment.

Hawaiin Postcards
*edit* I entered this card in a contest. I will post the pic when I hear!
Hello! A wonderful friend asked me to make a card for her daughter who is getting married this weekend. This is a second wedding and she wanted a card that would reflect the couples easy going style. She mentioned a sort of Jimmy Buffet/island feel. This is what I came up with.
The palm tree and exotic flower is from Paper Salon, a set called Summer Fun. The postcard stamps are from Close to my Heart, Vintage Postcard. For the ocean scene I used sponge daubers to add the first layer of color and then went back to add detail with watercolor pencils and a blender pen. This card is pretty heavily sponged with Distress Ink. The leaf background stamps are also from Close to My Heart, Nature Walk. I added stickles to the waters edge for a little shimmer.
While I had this palm tree out and a million sheets of different tropical paper, I made another card with the same layout, but different colors and the hula chick and lots of sparkle. It's fun to see how the same stamp (palm tree) can take on such a different look. The sand on both cards is real and added with liquid glue.

Summer Gift Basket

Hi! I have been a busy girl the past few days. I got a little stamping time in, but I also did a little volunteer work at my daughter's school yesterday and I have been doing a little window shopping with my mother-in-law who's in town until Friday. The weather is getting warm here, but it is also very windy. This project is for a fun gift exchange that is going on at SCS with some of the challenge stalker girls. The theme for this month was picnic and had to include a card, a project with the color red (like a checkered tablecloth) a food treat and had to be less than $15.00.
For the card, I used a RAK bella image and DP from Close to My Heart. For the project I CASE'd an idea from Christina who did an adorable spring tic tac toe board for the last MFT Designer Challenge. The gift also includes a Potluck recipe book that I added a band in coordinating paper to, a Grill It apron (picked up at Ross) and a box of dark chocolate peppermint patties, yum!
I am going out of town this weekend, so unless I get something done a little later today (not likely) I won't be back to blogging until Sunday. Have a terrific week!
Thanks for stamping by!

Moments...ironing
So, I was doing a little blog hopping and stopped by The Cozy Chair where Sandy said she had been tagged to share what was going on in her life at the moment. She took a picture of the snow shoveling that was going on in her neck of the woods and a pic of her desk. I just love getting a little peek at what my stamping friends are doing around the country and the world for that matter. I was just getting ready for some Friday night ironing. You see, I don't do the the laundry for the week until the ironing from the previous week has been done. That way I don't get overwhelmed with ironing or laundry and everything in my closet is clean, ironed and ready to go. This system has worked so well for me over the last several years that I almost don't mind. Now, keep in mind that I pretty much make an event out of ironing anyway. I have the world's largest TV (not really, but pretty great) in my sanctuary of a bedroom. I put on a favorite show or a movie I have been wanting to watch and get busy. Anyway, you can see part of my very serene bedroom which the ironing board lives in for about 1 hour every week.
I need your help. While blog hopping one day, I found someone who made purses out of old jeans....I cannot remember who's blog it is. Have you been there, can you tell me where to find her? Thanks
Aren't you glad I shared? Show and tell about your moment and leave a post here so I can come take a peek.
Laura~
