Longaberger Inspired Basket

This is for the My Favorite Things Guest Designer Challenge. The challenge is to make a candy holder. I wanted to make a round container. I looked around my house for inspiration and found a Longaberger Basket I have had for years. I studied it for a little bit and thought how hard could it be to make a basket....well two hours later...the hardest part was getting the actual weaves started and then getting the finshing trim at the top done. It's a funny thing that baskets know what they want to be once you get them started...I am feeling a little zen today...I ordered the Serenity Now Set from MFT last night during the release party, lol! Plus I was up part of the night weaving the basket.

So I love this little basket, tell me what you think!

Thanks for stamping by!

Laura

Love it, love it, LOVE IT! Will you share a how to on this is? Not that I really think I can accomplish this, even with directions but hey, I've got paper to waste.

I totally love this! I'm a Longaberger Consultant, and I've love to make one of these to use on my product table. I'd love it if you could share your "how to" with me! You really spent a lot of time, thought, and effort into this and it shows. You're a real artist!

Thank you, Thank You! I have made three baskets...2 with purely pomagranite and 1 so saffron. They are so fabulous. I was crazy for the "pinecone" balls and now these baskets have caught my imagination. I am thinking square baskets now...I'll see if I can finagle it. I appreciate the tutorial.
Warm regards,
Jody

I love this design! Just made one in Bazill baby pink and it is just so cute! Took me a little bit to get it started, but once it's started it flows really well.. I REALLY LOVE that it uses 1 sheet of paper and there is so little waste! I can see these as teacher gifts, seasonal decorations and shower prizes/centerpieces as well.. AWESOME!
